Follow the Yellow Brick Road this Christmas!

Follow us down the yellow brick road for our ‘socially distanced’ Christmas Adventure to the Land of Oz!

Join Dorothy as she goes on a magical adventure, over the rainbow, where along the way she makes new friends with the Scarecrow who longs for a brain, the Tin Man who really wants a heart and the very cowardly Lion who is desperate to be brave and have some courage. Dorothy needs to find her way home, but it’s not going to be easy with the Wicked Witch of the West keeping a close eye on her! Will the Great and Powerful Oz be able to help?

This spectacular, pantomimic, colourful story is packed with hilarious jokes, dazzling dance routines, glittering scenery and plenty more for all the family!

How we will be making you safe this Christmas at the Maltings

Social Distancing

Capacity for each performance is limited to comply with current social distancing. If these rules are relaxed we will increase capacity as allowed.

When you choose your seats, it will create an automatic ‘bubble’ around your booking to ensure that another booking is not sitting directly next to you.

Staff will be available to help you if you lose any of this information.


How we will be managing the extra hygiene issues required due to COVID-19?

The Maltings & KD Theatre Productions is undertaking a number of measures for your comfort and safety:

  • A deep clean of the venue has been undertaken
  • An increased daily cleaning regime will be in operation.
  • Hand sanitisers will be available at all entrances and throughout the building for staff, performers and customers.
  • A one-way system will be in place throughout the building
  • Staff training has been undertaken so that all staff are aware of their responsibilities and hygiene routine to be followed.
  • All staff will be supplied with PPE as needed.
  • If you are showing any symptoms of COVID-19 please do not come to the theatre
  • We ask all audience members to wear a face covering. If you do not have your own we will supply a disposable face covering.
  • Non-contact temperature checks will apply to all staff, performers and customers.
  • Screens have been fitted to our Box Office, merchandise and confectionery counters.
  • Audience numbers will be limited to ensure safe social distancing measures can be complied with
  • Crowd control measures including audience entrance and exit and flow through the venue, to toilets, bars, leaving etc. will be implemented.


On the day of the Performance

Please ensure you arrive at your allocated time to limit crowds gathering within the building.

  • Please bring your tickets via phone or print out. All tickets will be scanned upon entry by our friendly front of house team.
  • On arrival, you will have your temperature checked by our friendly front of house staff and asked to sanitise your hands at one of our hand sanitiser stations.
  • Please wear a mask when inside the building.
  • The Bar and Front of House kiosks will be open before the production to allow audience members to purchase drinks, snacks, merchandise etc. We politely request that only 1 member of each booking go to the bar at any one time.
  • Toilets will be available to all audience members on a ‘one in, one out’ basis.
  • The production is 75 minutes straight through (no interval) to allow minimal crowding around the building.
  • Please follow our very own ‘Yellow Brick Road’ one-way system around the building.
  • We ask you to respect others and keep a safe distance at all times.
  • The nearest free parking is ‘Ship Lane’ Car Park just opposite The Maltings.

If the performance is cancelled due to a local lock down or other measures, then a full refund will be given to all ticket purchases.
