Passionately led by co-founders Katherine Hickmott and Daniel Bell, KD Theatre Productions has carved out a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting and vibrant production companies since launching in 2013. Proudly multi award-nominated for the past four consecutive years at the UK Pantomime Awards, KD is known for creating high-quality, innovative, and captivating theatrical experiences across the country.
Christmas is our busiest (and most magical!) time of year, with pantomime at the heart of what we do. KD Theatre produces fresh, spectacular festive shows that delight audiences of all ages, working in close collaboration with our venue partners including The Maltings (Ely), Harlow Playhouse (Essex), Saffron Hall (Essex), The Atkinson (Southport), and The Lighthouse Theatre (Kettering).
Our mission to build the next generation of theatregoers drives us to create engaging children’s productions, including our hugely popular interactive Santa Shows. These intimate, studio-sized performances offer younger audiences their first taste of live theatre – and keep them coming back for more!
Touring family theatre is a growing part of our year-round calendar, with acclaimed productions such as The Wizard of Oz, Treasure Island, The Wind in the Willows, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears delighting audiences in theatres and open-air venues throughout the UK during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons.
In addition to our own productions, KD Theatre provides a wide range of theatrical services to other producers and venues – from full production packages and creative consultancy to script and costume hire.
We’re also delighted to be working with Trafalgar Entertainment to create immersive Dining Experience shows, including the brilliantly bonkers Aunt Fanny’s Diner and a brand-new Christmas Dining Show launching in 2025 – adding yet another layer of theatrical magic to our ever-expanding portfolio.
We’re proud to collaborate with some of the UK’s most talented creatives, actors, and production teams to ensure every KD production delivers a magical, exhilarating experience for audiences of all ages.
Alongside our professional work, Katherine and Daniel are deeply committed to nurturing the stars of tomorrow. Under the banner of KD Academy, they provide high-quality performing arts training to over 300 passionate young people every week – helping them shine both onstage and beyond.
